This has a good balance of chocolate, coffee, molasses, bourbon and vanilla.
It pours a very dark, black color with a small white head.
It is much like the aroma with an additional oat and woody presence. It has a very impressive sweet vanilla bourbon finish. Though the bourbon is minimal, it mixes well with the light bitterness and high roasted malt flavors. Overall, It’s very well balanced.
This beer has a nice creaminess with light body and a light amount of carbonation. It’s very drinkable.
Roast beef, BBQ ribs, and mac and cheese.
This is an incredibly balanced stout. It’s very smooth and warming; perfect for those cold nights! I like the addition of lactose in this year’s vintage. Overall, a good barrel aged stout, highly drinkable and a must try.
