This imperial milk stout pours very dark brown with a small bubbly tan head. The aroma has nice hints of vanilla and chocolate with a nice roasted malt presence and lactose sugar to round it out. The flavor hits off with a great start on deep roasted malts then caramel and chocolate with some lactose through the middle. All that depth smoothes off to a sweet milky character with some alcohol hotness to finish. The added lactose sugar brings a great creamy feel with medium body and the medium carbonation brightens up the profile. This is one serious imperial milk stout, Lakewood hit this style right on. The deep malts, lactose and hotness have an amazing balance to make this very drinkable and only gets better with each sip. This is one brew you really want to check out!
