This red IPA pours a very deep, dark amber with a bubbly tan head and decent retention. The aroma has a nice balance of caramel malt and citrus and pine resin hoppiness. The flavor kicks off with a nice malt character that moves into juicy grapefruit through the middle then wraps up on a bitter finish. This has a medium body with medium carbonation. It doesn't have a big standout flavor profile, but Carson’s did a great job bringing balance to a red ipa. The juicy middle paired with the caramel malts makes for a very drinkable and enjoyable beer.
