Hopothermia | Alaskan Brewing Company | Juneau, AK | DIPA
A light hint of tropical fruits, pineapples, oranges and grapefruit. There is a very strong presence of sweet malt and caramel malt on the nose.
A slightly hazy orange/amber color with good clarity. This beer has a very good head with decent retention.
Very similar to the aroma but more complex. The taste starts off with a fruity grapefruit/mango, then it leads to more of an earthy/pine. The hop character grows as you continue to drink this and is very complex given the big malty presence. It is perfectly balanced.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and the alcohol is well hidden for the style of beer.
Pineapple jalapeño pizza, spicy enchiladas and el pastor tacos.
This is a good DIPA. It has a west coast style with a twist and a very solid malt backing. The alcohol is masked very well by the malts. It's very well balanced and highly drinkable. Overall, it's very good and a must try.
