This beer has typical stout aroma of roasted malt and slight chocolate but with bread and earthy hints.
It pours a dark black with a small creamy tan head that slowly wears off.
The roasted malt and chocolate start you off and then you get an earthy middle that ends on a heavy cocoa-like bitterness.
Slightly carbonated with a bit of sweetness, but lacking overall creaminess.
Red meat, chocolate desserts and vanilla ice cream.
This a good beer with a nice roasted malt character, but after that it falls off a bit. The finishing bitterness is a bit much and I would like to see more complexity in the flavor. They did do a great job nailing the roasted malt but there is much more out there to add some balance.
