This SIPA pours a very hazy copper yellow color with a nice bright white head that fades quickly but has a small amount of retention. The aromas are of melon with sweet malt and slight detection of salty pine. This particular SIPA has rye added, which is very hard to detect in the aroma, but boy does it show in the taste! It starts off with a bitterness upfront that leads right into a very long sweet melon middle with hints of citrus peel. The added rye gives it a very unique and enjoyable spicy, peppery bitter finish. It has good carbonation for the style and a medium mouthfeel that helps express the flavors of this beer. Overall, this one has a great balance that does not lack in flavor. It’s very drinkable and highly recommended!
