This pale ale is unique in the fact that it is brewed with an addition of rye to give it an added spicy taste. It pours a hazy golden amber color with a small creamy head with decent retention. The aroma has mild tropical fruity flavor with a light bready malt and a slight spicy tartness from the added rye. The flavor is very similar to the aroma with a light biscuit start and citrus all the way through with a spicy finish. The mouthfeel is light in body with a fairly high carbonation for the style. Overall, it’s a unique take on the style that works well. It gives you a nice spicy finish you won’t find on typical pale ales.
