This aged imperial stout pours dark rich brown with a thin tan head. The aroma has sweet bourbon with a bit of coffee and a very nice oaky malt character. The flavor starts with molasses that leads to a bit of a hotness in the middle. The finish is where some complexity shines through with bourbon, cinnamon and sweetness that is rounded out by the smooth oak character. It has a heavy body with higher carbonation that helps balance out this big beer. This one has great complexity in the finish but not as much as some others throughout the rest. A bit of a vanilla addition might do wonders. This is still an amazing beer that is perfect on that cold friday night.
