This black IPA pours a very dark black color, almost a coca cola color. It has a very dark, thick amber tan head with decent retention. This one starts off with a sweet malt flavor that very quickly transitions to bittering hops in the middle and a very bitter charcoal aftertaste. It is medium in body with a velvety carbonation. Overall, I think it could of had more of a hop character. It seemed to be more of a hoppy porter, than a black IPA. Nothing to strongly recommend.
