This dubbel pours a hazy mahogany brown with a large tan head and great retention. There are strong aromas of dark fruits and sweet malts. It has a very distinctive Belgian yeast with hints of bananas. The plums tone down the Belgian yeast to make way for a fruit character that develops more as the beer warms. Surprisingly, this one is very creamy and smooth for this beer being medium bodied and highly carbonated. The only downside is it’s very chewy from the high fruit content. Overall, it’s decent for the style and worth the try.
