Strong smell of caramel upfront with light floral hop notes. You pick up slight lemon and spice with some roasted character.
A nice amber/orange color with a decent haze to it. This beer has a very light, bubbly, caramel colored head with decent retention.
Quite similar to the aroma with the caramel malt dominating. There is definite loss of the herbal hop character. The finish remains caramel with some spice and a touch of roasted malt.
Medium bodied with average carbonation. Smooth and thin middle for the style of beer.
Carnitas, Cheeseburger with onion rings, apple pie
I thought this was a good beer that made a great attempt at going bold with malt character. The caramel malt is definitely dominating, maybe too much, but I can respect the bold move. I would like to see a wider grasp on the malt and a bit more flavor hops. Overall, this is a nice drinkable beer, especially when you’re in the mood for a strong caramel malt.
