This stout pours very dark brown, almost black, with a decent tan head. The aroma is strong with an oaky bourbon sweetness with vanilla lingering in the background. The Flavor kicks off with a sweet molasses that moves into a nice dark cherry character. It finishes up on that barrel aged quality of bourbon and vanilla. This has an expected heavy body but an interesting lower carbonation. This is a great flavor added and aged stout. It has a big sweetness and bourbon character that can be overpowering if you’re not used to this style. It tends to drink more like an imperial stout but regardless, it is an excellent beer with nice complexity.
