This imperial IPA pours golden orange with a nice bubbly white head with decent retention. The aroma has an obvious pine character with a light caramel malt to back it up nicely with a light citrus and onion in the background. The flavor starts with a bready malt and herbal front with a slight bitterness and then calms into a citrus middle to finish up on pine resin and an herbal bitterness. This has a bit of a lighter body for the typical imperial, but it has nice carbonation. Sawdust City has brewed a very balanced and drinkable imperial IPA with a character that holds well it its name. The pine and herbal notes blend very well with the bready and caramel malts to keep the bitterness from overwhelming levels. Canada has a good thing going with this Twin Pines!
