Pumpkin pie along with cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar. A little citrus presence for the hops, but overall a lot of spiced pumpkin on the nose.
Light golden yellow color with a light head and excellent clarity.
A cracker like malt with citrus notes. Pumpkin blends with the citrus making it hard to enjoy. A a lot of cinnamon and nutmeg, which was much less evident than in the nose. As the pumpkin fades, the hop bitterness builds, leaving the palate bitter and spicy. It's unique and interestingly good.
This beer has light carbonation and medium body. A very drinkable beer.
Pork tenderloin, chicken curry and pumpkin pie.
It's surprising it has taken this long for a brewery to try this combination. It works very well, even when the spices subdue the bitterness for the standard of a typical IPA. It's a great blend of flavors. Congrats to Flying Dog for thinking out of the box! Overall, it's a good beer that is perfect when it starts getting cold out. It's a must try!
