This brown pours dark brown with an amber tint and a half inch tan bubbly head. The aroma has a hoppy citrus character with a hint of malt and a bitter bite. The flavor has a slight caramel malt front and middle that finishes on a huge lingering bitterness. It has a medium body with a dry mouthfeel. This american brown is dominated by an overpowering bitterness that is generally unpleasant. Having a hoppy citrus freshness in a nice malty brown had some promise in delivering something new and exciting, but in this case, it didn’t turn out how I’d like to see it.
