This beer has a nice roasted malt and biscuit aroma with a bit of sweetness.
It pours a dark brown to black with a nice thick tan head that fades to a small ring.
The roasted malt and sweetness dominates with a bit of toasty caramel. There is a definite bitterness in the end.
It has a very thin mouthfeel for the style with lighter carbonation.
BBQ Steak, Dark Chocolate, Roast Beef
The Porterluma has a nice roasty flavor that compliments the caramel and biscuit flavors, but is surprisingly light bodied for this style. The heavy bitterness is overwhelming in the finish and I would like to have seen a bit more complexity.
