This Double IPA pours a dark amber with a medium foamy tan head with decent retention. The aroma has sweet chocolate, fruit forward coffee and an earthy citrus presence. The flavor starts with a citrus cocoa front that smooths to light chocolate and coffee through the middle. It wraps it all up with a citrus and coffee character that lingerings between sips to keep you coming back. It has a medium body with average carbonation to bring everything together for a very drinkable beer. This is one of those out-there beers that you don’t know what to expect going it, but it definitely delivers. The citrus from the hops, smooth malts and coffee and chocolate all blend together to making a shockingly balanced and enjoyable DIPA that has successfully broken the style barrier. This is a seasonal offering, so get out there and experience it while you can.
