This DIPA pours golden amber color with a white head that leaves a small amount of lacing in the glass. It has a nice aroma of fresh jalapeno, sweet malt and citrus. With the first taste it hits you with a sweet caramel front that is on your palate for each sip. It has a nice earthy hop middle that leads to a light spicy finish from the added jalapeno. It’s nice because it’s a more of a pepper flavor than an actual heat and it’s by no means overpowering. It is medium to high bodied with medium carbonation and a smooth spicy oil finish. Overall, this DIPA delivers a creamy malt backbone while balancing a solid hop character. There is a nice big citrus and pine note with a nice added heat that is in no way overpowering. It’s very well balanced and highly enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this one!
