This barleywine pours a thick amber brown with a very thin tan head. The aroma has a sweet scotch character with a nice oaky vanilla and caramel malt. The flavor starts with a heavy syrup caramel malt that is smoothed out by the oak with raisin through the middle. It all wraps up with a nice vanilla and a very interesting but complimentary citrus bitterness. This has a heavy body with a syrup quality that is expected with barleywines. This has a lot of complexity that you have to try first hand.
