It starts with a forward chocolate taste that leads to a sweet molasses middle. This beer ends with a strong bitterness from the cocoa nibs that dominates the overall experience.
This is lightly carbonated with a higher alcohol presence. The chocolaty sweetness dominates the feel of the beer with a strong bitter aftertaste.

The Humboldt Brownie has a nice balance of malt, hop and alcohol, but it is thrown off by the strong cocoa nib bitterness that ends a bit unpleasant. This is our first time trying a double brown ale. They did a very solid job on nailing down a nice malt profile and balancing it with the right hop character, however it is masked by the strong alcohol and cocoa bitterness.
