This imperial stout pours a creamy black color with a small tan head that dissipates and leaves a light amount of lacing around the glass. The aroma is rich with oaky bourbon, sweet molasses and sweet black cherries. There is also a faint hint of chocolate and vanilla as well. The flavor is complex in a simple way on this one. It starts off with a sweet toasted peanut upfront that quickly leads to a molasses middle with hints of dark figs and raisin. The whole thing is balanced out by an oaky vanilla flavor that ends on a nice sweet bourbon presence. The mouthfeel is heavy, but very smooth and creamy. Surprisingly, it doesn’t have too much heat from the high alcohol. Overall it's a must try beer that I would highly recommend!
