Temecula, CA
Blonde Ale brewed with lime juice and coconut
ABV: 4.5
IBU: 16.3
Aroma-
A little honey smell with light lime peel and coconut.
It was a golden blonde color lacking clarity. Very light and airy head that dissipates fast. Almost non existing.
Flavor-
Taste is much the same with toast, earth, and slight lime flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earthy bitterness on the palate with each sip. The earthy bitterness balances well with the sweet malt character, while remaining not to sweet.
Mouthfeel-
This beer has a heavy honey character with lower level of carbonation and a slightly crisp mouthfeel.
Food pairings-
BBQ chicken pizza, fish and chips, chips and salsa, and grilled salmon.
Overall Impression-
This is very drinkable, but the lime and coconut additions seem very subdued to me. It's a unique blonde, but still lacking. Possibly the added flavor additions mask the missing characters of the blonde aspect of the beer. It slowly loses flavor as you keep drinking. Overall an average beer, I would consider again on a hot day.
