This old ale pours a hazy dark amber with a very small off-white head with decent retention. The aroma is actually slightly more subdued than expected with molasses and a nice spicy oak character. The flavor is big on molasses and oak with a complimentary background of malts and maple syrup. All of this adds up to a slick and smooth mouthfeel and a heavy body from that malt bill and added molasses...and don’t forget that oak barrel aging. This one has some big molasses and maple syrup character that really makes this stand out from others. You don’t find many like this old ale, so don’t miss your chance!
