This double red ale pours deep hazy amber in color with a thick airy off-white head. The aroma is rich with caramel malt, citrus and pine resin with a bit of pineapple in the background. The flavor is a little more simple with sweet toasted malt upfront that smooths off to a nice caramel character through the middle to finish up on an earthy pine bitterness. This has a medium body with medium to high carbonation. This double has a very interesting balance where the sweetness and bitterness are very separate on the palate, but still complement the overall feel. This is a good double red to enjoy on friday night!
