This stout pours rich black with a thin dark tan head with nice retention. The aroma is fulfilling all by itself with raspberry, sweet chocolate and a hint of vanilla in the back. The first sip makes your tastebuds go crazy with excitement picking through the complexity. The vanilla hits first, setting the stage for a sweet chocolate and mild bourbon and then wraps it all together with a creamy raspberry finish. The mouthfeel is very creamy with a syrup texture and definitely a heavy body, but not overly sweet or hot from alcohol. This is a must try beer! You have to experience it yourself to appreciate the balance and complexity.
