A very nice mix of coffee and roasted malts with a slight chocolate twist.
A strong black color. A nice head of mocha cream. A decent amount of retention.
A strong bitter coffee taste up front. Followed after with some chocolate in the finish. The taste was more of a bitter off-taste. I don't know if this was more the coffee or type of chocolate.
This beer has a heavy amount of carbonation and decent mouthfeel. With the style, the carbonation isn't distracting.
Smoked brisket, chocolate cake, and vanilla ice cream.
It's decent for the style, yet overly bitter. Also this beer was very one dimensional. Was very dry and acidic. Possibly it was a mix of the hops, type of chocolate, or coffee. I would like to see that off flavor reduced to consider this beer as good. Overall, decent for a porter.
