A large amount of toasted and roasted malt character with a subtle milky sweetness.
Dark black color with a decently sized brown creamy head.
Taste is much the same as the aroma. You get the rich cocoa coffee at first. It's then followed by a lingering creamy milk taste that lasts. At the end is a very strong roasted malt character for a great finish.
A silky feeling from the use of lactose that gives this beer a nice creamy thick body. This is a moderately carbonated beer that finishes with a roasted bitterness that lingers, in a good way.
Peppered oak-grilled steak, mud pie, and anything Nutella!
They did a great job of incorporating the lactose to get the milkiness without going too sweet. It's very well balanced with just the right roasted flavors. This has to be one of the best stouts around. It's a must try, and great on a rainy day like today!
